Dr. Xing is a professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada, a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a fellow of the American Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering. He published more than 190 papers in journals such as Nature Biomedical Engineering, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, and Biomaterials. He applied super-elastic hydrogels to myocardial infarction (interviewed by Nature Review Cardiology), burns, cartilage and bone defects, and hair follicle regeneration (American Chemical Society headline science news and Royal Society of Chemistry interview). He built the hydrophobic polymer chain entanglement theory and applied it to bio-adhesives and hemostasis (interviewed and highlighted by the journal Matter with 3 pages). He proposed a new system of integrating adhesives and hemostasis (highlighted by Science as This week of science and Nature Review Materials and selected for AFP's 2022 solutions inspired by nature).
