Dr. Yang is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and the dean of textile college of Zhongyuan University of Technology. She also serves as an executive director of China Textile Engineering Society and a member of Education Special Committee of China Fashion Color Association. She is also a member of the editorial board and reviewer of famous academic journals related to textiles and colors, such as Journal of Textile Research, Textile Research Journal, Color Research and Application and Color Technology. Her research features including digital and intelligent textile technology, textile color science and etc. She has hosted projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and won over 20 teaching and research awards, including one second prize of National Science and Technology Progress award, one first prize of Provincial Science and Technology award, one first prize of Provincial Teaching Achievement award, and one special prize of Textile Vision teaching achievement.
