Dr. Sun is a second-level professor, doctoral supervisor of Sanqin Scholars in Shaanxi Province, and dean of Textile Science and Engineering College of Xi'an Polytechnic University. He has been engaged in teaching and research work in the disciplines of textile science and engineering for a long time. His main scientific interests include the structure and properties of textile materials and the research and development of industrial and functional textiles. He has participated in research projects on the new generation of Type 97 military clothing materials for the Chinese People's Liberation Army, efficient short-process embedded composite spinning technology, and its industrialization. He was awarded National Science and Technology Progress, Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress, and Shaanxi Provincial Teaching Achievements. He participated in the drafting of five national standards.
