Dr. Zhang is the deputy dean of the School of Textile and Clothing of Nantong University, and a visiting scholar at the National University of Singapore and the University of Leicester, UK. His research focuses on advanced fibers and nonwoven materials, biomedical fiber materials, and fibers and geomaterials for construction. He has successively presided over National Key Research and Development Program Projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Key Research and Development Program Projects, Jiangsu Provincial Colleges and Universities Natural Science Research Major Projects, and Jiangsu Provincial Industry-Academic-Research forward-looking joint research projects. He has been selected as a Young Science and Technology Talent of the Ministry of Transport, a second level training target of Jiangsu Province's 333 Project, an outstanding teaching team leader of the Qinglan Project in Jiangsu universities, a Double Innovation Doctor in Jiangsu Province, and was awarded the China Textile Engineering Society Textile Youth Science and Technology Award, Jiangsu Textile Youth Science and Technology Award and other honorary titles.
