Dr. Liao is the distinguished professor of the Ministry of Education at University of Science & Technology Beijing. He serves as the dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the executive deputy director of academy for advanced and interdisciplinary science and technology, USTB. His scientific interests focus on controllable synthesis and characterization of low-dimensional

nanomaterials, design and application of functional nanodevices. He has published 180 papers in highlevel journals in the fields of materials, physics and chemistry, and has been cited more than 8000 times by others. He applied for more than 80 national invention patents, and has obtained more than 40 authorized patents, and participated in the writing of 5 Chinese and English monographs. He has won National Natural Science Award, 2 first-class and 2 second-class of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
