Dr. Lai is a Fujian province “Minjiang Scholar” special-appointed professor at the College of Chemical Engineering at Fuzhou University, China. His research interests are focused on surface and interface modification, bioinspired functional membranes with special wettability, TiO2 nanostructures for energy and environmental applications. Dr. Lai published more than 200 referred articles. Some of his papers have been published in world's prestigious journals, such as Chem. Soc. Rev., Energy Environ. Sci., Adv. Mater., etc.Up to date, the total citation number without self-citation is more than 19000 times with an H-index of 77. He has filed 10 PCT patents, and has been granted 1 American invention patents, and 31 Chinese invention patents. He received several prestigious awards, including five times of Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers (2018-2022), China Industry and Research Cooperation Innovation Award, “Hou Debang” Chemical Science and Technology Youth Award, Second Prize for the Natural Science in the Ministry of Education (ranking 3), Humboldt Research Fellowship, Hundred Talents, Distinguished Young Researchers of Fujian Province, Emerging Investigators award of Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Hall of Fame of Advanced Materials Interfaces, 2023 Class of Influential Researchers of IECR award.
