Dr. Mao is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Donghua University and China Textile Engineering Society Fellow. He is currently the director of the National Engineering Research Center for Dyeing and Finishing of Textiles and the National Innovation Center of Advanced Dyeing & Finishing Technology, and the Vice president of China Printing and Dyeing Industry Association and the Deputy Director of the Dyeing and Finishing Professional Committee of China Textile Engineering Society. His research interest focuses on the clean production in the field of textile printing and dyeing, and the development and industrialization of technologies such as catalytic oxidative bleaching of textile materials, clean dyeing with low salt and less water, and green substitution of hazardous chemicals. He has published more than 300 papers (more than 230 SCI papers), held 70 invention patents, including 5 foreign patents, participated in the compilation of 1 international standard, 1 national standard and 3 industry standards. He has led over 70 projects such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Key Basic Research Projects of the Shandong Natural Science Foundation. He won more than 10 awards and honorary titles such as the second prize of the National Technological Invention Award, the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China National Textile and Apparel Industry Federation, and the Special Contribution Award of the Science and Technology Award of the China National Textile and Apparel Council.
